Mindset

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

2012

Although this post is a little unrelated to my exchange, I have decided that it still needs to be written...

It's settled -- 2012 is going to be one of the best years of my life.

Why?

I'll break it down into three 4-month chunks.

JAN-APR: I had the opportunity to meet and work with the most amazing people during my 4 month co-op work term (which ended just last Thursday so I am still a little sad). On the bright side, I will still see the majority of these people in Waterloo, and even have 2 of them as my neighbours!

MAY-AUG: Summer school in Waterloo. I am living in a house with 2 of my favourite people AND my room has a walk-in closet (can you tell I'm excited?). I will also be training for a 10k run that will take place at the end of July, as well as join MLSB - a softball team run by students in the summer. This summer will also be one of the London Olympic Games. I cannot wait to see my favourite events: gymnastics, diving, and Michael Phelps.

SEPT-DEC: PARIS! 4 months of studying at ISC Paris, travelling all around Europe, being able to use my amateur French skills daily, cute Parisian cafés, and of course, macarons. Ladurée, here we come.

So that's that. Needless to say, I cannot wait to see how everything unfolds!

5 months!

Last week, I attended a Pre-Departure training session where I got to see everyone who is going on exchange in the following year. I also got to meet the 6 other people going to ISC Paris in the fall. 5 more months, I'm beyond excited!
